How To Reach Mussoorie

Mussoorie can be easily reached from Dehradun and is the nearest Airport,  Railway Station and Bus Stand. Once you reach Dehradun you can hire private cab, shared taxi or bus to reach Mussoorie.

Flight:  The Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest Airport to reach Mussoori. It is located at a distance of just 34 kilometers from Mussoorie.

Train: Dehradun railway station is connected to all the major cities in India. You can book your tickets from the official IRCTC website. If you don’t find a direct train from your town then you can break your journey from Delhi.

Road: Mussoorie is well connected by road from Delhi. You can hire a cab directly from Delhi or even enjoy self-drive which takes nearly 7 hours time to reach Mussoorie. The upcoming Delhi- Dehradun Expressway will make it easier and convenient as the duration will be reduced to less than 4 hours.

Take a Rope Way To Gun Hill

Gun Hill is the second highest summit in Mussoorie. It offers spectacular view of the entire hill station and the surrounding Himalayan ranges of Doon Valley & Garhwal. It is located at a distance of 400 from Mall Road. You can take the Cable Car to reach the top and enjoy the bird’s eyes view of the entire town. It was named as Gun Hill during the pre-independence period because of the presence of gunfire on these hills. The gun was fired during the day to enable people to adjust their watches.

The cost for the round trip is INR 75 per person and timings are as follows:

  • 10 am to 6 pm in peak winter season during snow (December & January)
  • 8 am to 10 pm in Summer peak season ( May to July & October)
  • 10 am to 7 pm in moderate season (November to April & August to September

Kempty is a lovely waterfall with water cascading from a height of 12 m which looks extremely beautiful. Your trip to Mussoorie is incomplete without visiting this splendid place. Lal Tibba is the highest point located on the top of Depot Hill in Landour at a distance of 6 kms from Mussoorie.
